Ecumenical Service Commemorating the

Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide

at

Westminster Abbey

 A Service of Commemoration of the Armenian Martyrs of 1915 will be held at Westminster Abbey at 7.00pm on Wednesday 28th October2015.

The service has been organised at the initiative and under the auspices of HE Dr. Armen Sarkissian, Ambassador of Armenia to the Court of St. James’s, by kind permission of the Dean and the Chapter of Westminster. The service will be presided over by His Holiness KAREKIN II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and the Right Reverend Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

St Yeghiche Armenian Church Parish members and our faithful wishing to attend must register in advance by contacting St Yeghiche Armenian Church Parish Council or calling 0207 373 8133 no later than 30^th August 2015.

Places are limited and special tickets will be issued on “first come first serve basis”

Note: Entrance to the service will be strictly for ticket holders only.

FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD (ASDVADZADZIN) AND BLESSING OF GRAPES SERVICE

On Sunday, August 16, St Yeghiche Armenian Church Parish will observe the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother-of-God. Our Primate Bishop Hovakim Manukyan will be conducting the service at St Yeghiche which commemorates how St. Mary was taken up in body and soul, or “assumed,” into heaven. Divine Liturgy will commence at 11.00 am.

On this feast day, the “Blessing of Grapes” service takes place immediately after the Divine Liturgy.

Donations in lieu of Grapes are being collected. Those wishing to offer donations please hand your donation to a member of the Parish Council or post your donations in advance to St Yeghiche Armenian Church Parish Council,13b Cranley Gardens, Kensington London, SW7 3BB, or call 0207 373 8133 . His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians made a short visit to UK to meet with the Parish Councils and discuss the future of the United Kingdom and Ireland Dioceses. St Yeghiche Armenian Church Parish Council representatives Viken Haladjian and Keghvart Vartanian together with Very Rev Fr Aren Shaheenian attended this meeting which was arranged by HG Bishop Vahan Hovhanessian. The meeting was held on 21st January 2015 at HAY DOON to discuss various subjects relevant to the future of the UK Diocese and the various parishes within its jurisdiction. All churches, in UK and Ireland attended the meeting and His Holiness gave his fatherly advice and blessed all present members for their dedication to the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church and wished them all the success in their endeavour to make the transition a smooth one.
